What We Do
We help organizations large and small to understand themselves, their opportunities and problems, in order to grow and prosper. We provide research and analyses to define opportunities, planning and forecasting to map out strategies for realizing those opportunities, and project management to execute on those plans.
Forecasting and Planning
Drawing from our expertise in mathematical and financial modelling, our research skills and our subject matter experts, we take on a broad range of projects in the utilities, natural gas, carbon emissions, and technology space. Our work has ranged from finding solutions to complex technical and operational challenges, to creating financial models supporting regulatory applications and large scale infrastructure projects. While our analyses rely on hard facts and data, we balance these with the subjective aspects of the problem to arrive at meaningful solutions relevant to our clients’ needs.
Regulatory Services
We provide service supporting the full scope of regulatory proceedings, from the development of the application and regulatory strategy, through the information request and hearing process. We have provided advice to regulatory panels and understand the many considerations that they face in their decisions. We have worked on projects for both applicants and the regulator relating to electric, gas and water/sewer utility rate designs and cost of service studies, revenue requirement applications, facilities applications, resource plans, and market power assessments.
Management & Operations
The problems we love to tackle are the ones defying simple definition and straightforward resolution. Our team of business analysts, IT developers, engineers and communications professionals guide the entire process beginning with the identification of the opportunity and the creation of a business case, through to project planning, approvals and execution. Our areas of practice are diverse, ranging from natural gas volume measurement and accounting practices, pipeline integrity risk analysis, control room management (CRM), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), and cyber-security.
